About Me

Hi & welcome to my blog! I’m Jackelyn, a 30-something former marketing exec turned stay-at-home mom.  I made the decision in 2011 to take a break from posting nearly daily deals because my family was in the midst of a huge, life-changing event.

I wanted to start The Mom Hood to share our experiences in our new house; to share the projects that we’ll be working on. You see, this is the first house we’ve had where we’re actually going to attempt to fix things on our own. And since neither my husband or I really know what we’re doing, I figure someone might as well get some entertainment out of it.

I’ll also be writing about our experiences in the country. I’ve never had to deal with things like bears, foxes, septic systems, etc. before. I’m sure this journey will be an enlightening (if not entertaining) one, and I hope you’ll come along for the ride!
